Job summary

This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 30/06/24 to meet the needs of the service.

If you are an internal applicant this post will only be offered on a secondment basis and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to going to interview.

We are looking for applicants to join us as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner for a years fixed term secondment In Prince Philip Hospital Llanelli, working within the Minor Injuries Unit . Our team see a wide range of patients from many different socio-economic backgrounds in rural and urban environments, which offers really interesting and varied patient caseloads.

The post holder will be a Registered Health Care Professional (NMC/HCPC) and a Non-Medical Prescriber. You will be acting within your professional boundaries and will provide holistic care for the presenting patient. This will include initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the unscheduled care directorate at Prince Philip Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. You will work collaboratively with the medical and nursing teams to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.

You will act as a positive role model that enables change, demonstrate effective leadership, direct, lead and motivate staff to a high standard of professionalism and strengthen multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partnership working with internal department and external health, social care and other stakeholders.

The post holder must be able support others in developing knowledge and skills, provide training and present information and work with colleagues in Workforce and Organisational Development and Senior Managers across the Health Board in the development and delivery of effective and efficient development programmes for the areas within their remit.

You will be responsible for ensuring that high quality care and professional standards are maintained. We require an energetic leader who is a confident individual who can inspire others and challenge and influence practice.
