Job summary

There are three finance business partnering teams in Powys; each working with senior managers responsible for directly providing healthcare services. This role supports the Corporate Directorates and the Primary Care Directorate recognising the important commissioning focus of the Health Board, and will be the finance lead for a portfolio of secondary healthcare contracts.
The Finance Business Partners report into the Assistant Finance Director - Partnering and Transformation, supporting the day-to-day co-ordination and provision of high quality and robust strategic financial management business advice with a keen customer focus. These are key roles within the senior finance team and as such play a leadership role with the Department and are expected to work effectively with external partners in Wales and England.
Main duties of the job
The Finance Business Partner (FBP) post is a strategic partner that is innovative, focused on creating value and drives opportunities, leads a partnering team, thinks and acts strategically and takes a lead on decision making.
They will be expected to be a member of the Senior Finance Team, and are responsible for leading and delivering on the financial position of the organisation both in year and as part of the 3-year financial plan. Overall, the post holder will ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective financial service.
The post holder will provide leadership, strategic and professional management combined with operational responsibility for the delivery of finance support and advice working across the Health Board to support the Director of Finance, the Executive Directors and other senior managers. Providing comprehensive financial management support by providing a range of advice as a Senior Manager of both the Finance Team and the Health Board.
