PTHB (Powys Teaching Health Board) is seeking an inspiring and driven Band 7 Team Leader for our Children's Neurodevelopment and Learning Disability Team. Your Role
Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing expert care and support for children and families.
L Lead and deliver complex assessments pathways, ensuring the rights of the child/young person remain central
Coordinate and oversee clinical delivery to ensure the highest standards of service including chairing multidisciplinary decision making panels.
Champion evidence-based practice and innovative approaches to neurodevelopment and learning disability care.
Collaborate with local agencies, schools, and families to deliver integrated support.
About You
Registered health care professional (e.g., Nursing, OT, Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy).
Proven expert knowledge and experience in children's neurodevelopment and/or learning disabilities.
Exceptional leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Compassionate, forward-thinking, and committed to continuous improvement.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of a high-quality specialist service to children and young people with Neurodevelopmental differences and/or learning disabilities.o Work as part of a multidisciplinary Paediatric team providing assessment and intervention to individuals and their families/carers across Powys Teaching Health Board. This will include the development of an innovative service for children, young people and their families who have either a Neurodevelopmental Condition (such as Autism or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD) or Learning Disabilities
- Lead complex assessment pathways and apply quality assurance to the diagnostic decision making panel for pathways managed within the team
- Design and deliver a suite of pre and post diagnostic support for children and families
- Work collegiately with multiagency partners to improve whole system approach of care and support
- Review the effectiveness of the service through feedback from service users

- Significant experience as a Neurodevelopment or Learning Disability specialist professional within Children's services
- Portfolio of evidence demonstrating own personal development
- Post qualifying experience working with Children
- Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Post graduate training in Neurodevelopment Disorders or Learning Disability support
- Teaching/training/Assessor qualification
- ASD assessment tool training e.g. ADOS, ADIr etc
- Level 7 Course Positive Behaviour Management
