An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our team to undertake the role ofPrimary Care and Community Programme Manager (Band 8a).

This is a senior, strategic leadership role with significant organisational accountability and external influence. The post holder leads ahighprofileprogramme,establishingand overseeing governance, performance, quality, and risk for a new Wales Primary Care and Community Research Delivery Network, while delivering a national research portfolio across Wales.

The role focuses on developing inclusive,community basedresearch delivery models, particularly for underserved populations. It provides system leadership across health and social care, building strong partnerships with NHS Wales, community organisations, and commercial partners to enable fair, efficient, andpatient centredresearch delivery.

The postholder will have a nominated base within the NHS and will have the ability to work remotely/flexibly.

Main duties of the job

  • Demonstrable experience of operating at a senior level, working within a high-profile programme team with freedom to act and at a strategic level with organisational accountability, and external influence.

  • Lead on the development of innovative approaches to designing and implementing inclusive, community-based research delivery models, particularly in underserved or marginalised populations.

  • Establish andbe responsible forthe implementation and oversight of governance and operations for a new Wales Primary Care and Community Research Delivery Network in Wales. Provide senior programme leadership for the Primary Care and Community Research Delivery Network, leading delivery of the centres research portfolio across Wales.
  • Maintain senior oversight of performance, governance and quality, using intelligence and insight to manage risk, assure delivery and support fair,efficientand compliant research operations.
  • Build and sustain effective partnerships with commercial partners, key stakeholders across health and social care (NHS Wales Health Boards, primary care, community organisations), providing system leadership that enables inclusive, patient-centred research delivery across Wales
