Based in Bronllys Hospital. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a well-established Community Respiratory and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team here in Powys Teaching Health Board. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Assistant Therapy Practitioner to join our Community Respiratory Service in Powys. Working under the direction and supervision of the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) within the team, the successful candidate will support the delivery of pulmonary rehabilitation and respiratory services for residents across Powys Supporting patients to make positive life choices that enhance their lives and health.

If so, this post could be for you! We can offer you the opportunity to work alongside experienced staff to help develop your skills and knowledge in respiratory care. As a member of the respiratory and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team, you will be expected to work independently, while collaborating with the therapists and nurses, to support patients in a community setting. You will work alongside wider community teams, including therapies and district nursing and local GP surgeries, secondary care respiratory colleagues and community inter disciplinary teams, delivering high quality care across community settings.
Main duties of the job
- Work as a member of the Community Respiratory Serviceunder the direction and supervision of the Occupational or Physiotherapists.
- Assess, implement, treat, and progress patients in accordance with agreed protocols and treatment programmes, under the supervision of a qualified therapist.
- Deliver elements of pulmonary rehabilitation programmes, supporting patients to improve physical function, respiratory health, and overall wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment, alongside members of community healthcare teams and partner organisations.
- Support patients to achieve their individual therapy goals, helping to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions through early intervention and rehabilitation.
- Contribute to the delivery of client-centred rehabilitation programmes, ensuring patient needs, preferences, and goals remain central to treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with organisational policies and professional standards.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
