As Head of Service, you will lead and inspire our Speech and Language Therapy workforce, driving service transformation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. We are seeking an experienced, confident, and highly motivated leader with a strong track record of managing teams and transforming service delivery within the health and care system.

Main duties of the job

Provide strategic and clinical leadership across primary care, community services, and hospital sites.

Work collaboratively with Professional Heads, Service Groups and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Support the integration and transformation of service delivery by interpreting and responding to national and local drivers.

Champion innovation, digital solutions and modern approaches to care delivery.

Act as a visible, engaging role model, demonstrating exceptional organisational and communication skills.

  • Providing professional leadership and governance to all Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) services within the organisation.
  • Operational management of the Adult and Paediatric SLT services across Powys.
  • Development, provision and evaluation of a comprehensive clinical SLT service.
  • Providing advice on a wide range of SLT matters to patients, service users, carers and clinicians.
  • Lead on specific clinical audits, research and quality improvement projects.
