Job summary
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to be appointed as a Research Manager.
This role will suit a self-motivated individual with strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to think laterally and work with minimal day to day supervision.
The post holder will require excellent communication skills, have a positive and flexible approach to the needs of the Service, be motivated, ready for the next challenge and enjoy working as part of a very busy team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder:
will provide operational management support for national programmes of work.
will develop strong working relationships with health and social care colleagues across academia, Welsh Government and clinical settings.
will work with NHS R&D offices and the Delivery Staff to develop local engagement strategies and initiatives which will fit with current practice to incentivise health and social care professionals to become involved in research.
will be responsible for identifying initiatives, capacity and resources across health and social care in Wales that can support research, ensuring that the Support and Delivery Centre co-ordinates the provision of complementary services and initiatives to increase health and social care research.

- Educated to degree level in a Health/ Social Care discipline, Research or Management, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
- Additional qualification in a relevant field, for example Project Management
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Good understanding of clinical research
- Good understanding of the challenges faced by health and social care providers and how these impact on the ability to include research as part of core business
- Specialist knowledge of NHS and social care services in Wales and/ or the UK
- Good knowledge of health-related research
