We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our Powys Physiotherapy service within the Mid locality (Llandrindod Wells base).
You will take a lead role in the assessments and treatment of patients in the musculoskeletal service who may have a complex and/or chronic presentation.To determine a clinical diagnosis and develop effective and appropriatetreatment plans, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner at alltimes.To act as a source of expertise on the management of musculoskeletal and long-term conditions and provide advisory service to patients, peers and wider MDT.To prioritise referrals on a daily basis.To provide clinical leadership, supervision and training to band 5Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Technicians, Therapy Support Workers and Students.To occasionally deputise for Team Lead when required.To support the Team Lead with operational management.To educate and advise carers/relatives
Main duties of the job
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individuals who have experience in the field of MSK.
The successful applicant will be expected:
To provide specialist MSK Physiotherapy to outpatients both face to face and virtually (video & telephone) to a variety of patients with a wide range musculoskeletal clinical needs.
To contribute to service development, support peers and on occasion lead on particular service development initiatives.
To provide supervision and teaching to Physiotherapy support workers, students and Band 5 Physiotherapists.
We are committed to the development of our MSK Physiotherapy staff and service. We support staff development through regular in-service training sessions as part of the Powys MSK forum, as well as clinical supervision sessions and appraisals. For the right candidate, we will offer full funding and study leave for relevant post graduate studies, such as MSK external courses, MSK related M-level modules or a full MSc course. This will be in line with your development plan and departmental training plan.
