Job summary
We are looking for highly motivated Pre-Operative Assessment Practitioner to join our Day Surgery and Endoscopy Units at Brecon and Llandrindod Hospital. This role will enable the development of clinical practice, knowledge and skills whilst undertaking independent comprehensive assessments of patients undergoing elective surgery. Pre assessment is considered to be a pivotal part of the patient's pathway ensuring the patients are in their optimal health for their procedures.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for undertaking and recording a comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced based nursing assessment for a diverse group of patients about to undergo elective surgery. Undertake patient assessment without direct supervision. Accountable for the information and care delivered and any omissions.
Teach and supervise staff, students and the non-registered nursing workforce.
Accountable for care or any omissions of care that he/she delegates to others.
Act as role model, delivering care with empathy and compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
