Job summary
Powys Teaching Health Board is looking to recruit a specialist in special care dentistry. Applications from candidates who are not on the specialist list for special care dentistry but have extensive experience in managing level 2 complexity special care patients, will also be considered, as a Band B.
The successful candidate will have the choice of being based in Newtown or Brecon and will be part of a diverse team that includes a consultant oral surgeon, paediatric and endodontic specialists.

Main duties of the job
In conjunction with the associate dental director the post holder will be responsible for planning dental services for special care patients, including patients who suffer from anxiety and dental phobias.
About us
The Community Dental Service comprises of a wide range of locations, specialities and services which involve primary dental care, consultant led secondary care, special needs, and priority group patients in both the clinic and domiciliary setting. This includes Schools, residential and nursing homes, epidemiological surveys, and oral health promotion/education.
