Within the role, the post holder will be accountable for:o Professional Leadership of Therapies and Health Sciences.o Leadership, advice, and guidance to services in relation to Therapies and Health Science staffing requirements, including leading the professional input into workforce planning, establishments, and skill mix.o Strategic development and planning of the services, ensuring theformulation and implementation of strategic plans, ensuring they areresponsive to changing needs.o Providing strategic advice to the Director of Therapies and Health Science Services and the Board.o Development of strategic plans for diagnostics, point of care testing,sensory loss standards and clinical informatics.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Director will operate independently, providing expert and high-levelclinical advice, complying with professional codes of conduct, regulation, organisational policies, and procedures, and interpreting their application within the Health Board. Chair relevant committees on behalf of the Executive Director and participate in a range of corporate committees. Engage with senior clinical colleagues in the delivery of the Directorate Plan and Powys Strategy, encompassing a visionary approach in alignment with the organisational objectives and values. Provide the Executive Director with routine high-qualityreports focussing on aspects of delivery against objectives and the delegated portfolio.Provide leadership and direction where highly complex ideas or concepts need to be conveyed and implemented across the organisation.This will include working collaboratively with other professions within the organisation, particularly operational leads, ensuring expert advice in respect of Therapies Services, facilitating consensus building and decision making where there is likely to be a range of options and differing opinions. Exercising high level judgement and autonomy in decision making, providing specialist knowledge across a range of professions and managerial procedures and practices relating to professional practice and the management of Therapy Services.
