Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the Therapies and Healthcare Scientists leadership team. You will be responsible for professional governance of all Occupational Therapists across Powys Teaching Health Board ensuring the service is safe, effective, efficient, patient centered and delivered to a high quality.
The role will require you to respond to an ever changing and demanding working environment as we strive to deliver an occupation focussed, outcomes driven service that meets the needs of the population and supports the development of a skilled staff group.
You will also ensure the service is responsive and developing in line with local and national strategies and policies with a range of responsibilities including professional standards and personal development of staff.
As a key member of the Therapies and Healthcare Scientists Leadership Team you will expected to provide professional support to Community Service Group, Mental Health and Women and Children's Services. You will lead and support collaborative and partnership working in areas of quality improvement and change management in line with the strategic direction of the Occupational Therapy service.
Main duties of the job
The Professional Head of Occupational Therapy (OT) is a professional leader and operational manager within the Therapies and Health Science services.
Currently this role operational manages the Adult Occupational Therapy Learning Disability service.
Provide professional leadership and advice to all OT services within the organisation.
Responsibility for the OT Service meeting identified key performance indicators and targets.
Development, provision, and evaluation of a comprehensive clinical OT service.
Providing advice on a wide range of OT matters to patients, service users, carers, and clinicians.
Lead on specific clinical audits, research and quality improvement projects.
Provide clinical and professional supervision to Occupational Therapists.
