Job summary
Provide a specialist Clinical Psychology Service within the Powys Living Well Service as part of the Health Board's approach to managing long term conditions. Provide a highly specialist psychological service including assessment, formulation, intervention, evaluation, training and supervision; providing advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, nonprofessional carers, working within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. Undertake research, audit and service development as an integral part of service delivery. Promote the employment of psychological strategies, to enhance self-management and specifically work with patients that may present with behaviours that may be deemed challenging. Contribute to teaching, training and supervision of other staff within the service regarding all and any psychological perspectives of long-term condition management. - Professional Doctorate in Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the British Psychological Society
- Registered with Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC) as qualified Practitioner Psychologist
- Experience post qualification within a relevant area where skills are transferrable to adults with chronic health conditions
- Knowledge of clinical psychological assessment, formulation, and psychological treatment as well as experience of providing these across all core specialties
- Knowledge of specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology
