Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Allied Health Professional to join our team to take an important role in the delivery of the Improving the Cancer Journey (ICJ) Programme. This role requires an AHP that is dynamic and who can demonstrate an understanding of how support for people living with cancer in Powys can be enhanced.

The post will provide a key role within the ICJ Programme, which is a joint initiative between Macmillan, Powys Teaching Health Board and Powys County Council. The ICJ model centres around providing personalised holistic support for people living with cancer, the Macmillan AHP Cancer Lead role will enable the delivery of improved personalised care for those living with cancer in Powys.

Main duties of the job

The Macmillan AHP Cancer Lead will provide professional leadership to AHP professions and be key in the coordination and delivery of high quality, patient centred cancer services across Powys Teaching Health Board that meets the needs of the patient and those important to them.

The post holder will be required to promote a person centred vision for AHP cancer services. This will involve working with key stakeholders, providers and the Wales Cancer Network to ensure the national and local agenda is implemented with regard to cancer. Furthermore, the post holder will provide professional advice, workforce direction and leadership to AHP colleagues across the organisation.

The post holder will work to improve patient care by facilitating, enabling and supporting the AHP workforce in the delivery of high quality, evidence based person-centred care, including scoping cancer related pre-habilitation and rehabilitation services within Powys.
