Powys Teaching Health Board have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Information Analyst to join the Data & Business Intelligence Team.
The Senior Information Analyst will play a key role in developing the analytical and intelligence capability of the health board, helping to embed an organisational culture of data-based decision making.
This is a permanent full-time position within the Finance IT and Informatics Directorate.
The role is based in Bronllys Hospital, although agile working is encouraged and supported. Successful applicants must be able to occasionally travel and work on site, with a flexible approach to home working.

Main duties of the job
The Senior Information Analyst will engage in all elements of the data lifecycle:
- working directly with service users to understand their business requirements,
- acquiring data from a variety of different systems,
- managing the transition of data into the data warehouse,
- manipulation and analysis of data, and
- creating and disseminating reports.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong SQL skills,
- Experience of data warehousing in SQL Server Management Studio or other environments such as Data Lakes,
- Advanced Excel skills, and
- Experience of working with SSIS or other data integration applications, cloud-based technologies, and data visualisation tools such as SSRS or Power BI.
Excellent communication skills will be required to engage with staff and stakeholders at all levels within Powys and external organisations.
Experience of hospital information systems will be an advantage.
