An opportunity has arisen within Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) to work jointly with our Immunisation/Vaccination Team and Community Services Team as a rotational Pharmacy Technician. This post is fixed term until 31/03/2024, with an extension dependent on confirmation of funding. Secondments are welcomed.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Senior Pharmacy Technician Lead for Vaccination, we are looking for a pharmacy technician to work alongside our Pharmacy Immunisation/Vaccination team and Community Services team to:
- Support the delivery of a safe and effective immunisation/vaccination service, with particular emphasis around governance.
- Promote and implement all principles of a successful medicines management service throughout Powys hospitals to provide an integrated pharmacy service.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside our experienced Immunisation/Vaccination Team and Community Services Team, to gain valuable experience and to contribute to the delivery of the ambitious national immunisation programme to PTHB residents, and to support the pharmaceutical service and Medicines Management agenda.
The post holder will be a pharmacy technician registered with the GPhC . You will be a focused individual with a keen eye for detail, have outstanding organisational skills and be able to manage and prioritise your daily workload.
.This post is up to 37.5 hours per week. A proportion of the post-holder's time will be spent at the Bronllys hospital site, although some travel will also be required. This post, on occasion, will require some early morning starts (Bronllys site).
