Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our existing dynamic Practice Education Facilitator team. You must have a keen interest in developing and supporting the practice education of our visiting pre-registration nurses, who are our future nursing workforce. Working in strong collaboration with our University Partners both in Wales, and across the English border, you will support the provision of an effective clinical learning environment for pre-reg. nursing students whilst in Powys Teaching Health Board. You will support our clinical staff in their assessment of student nurses, ensuring that they are fit for practice and purpose at the point of registration.
You will need to be able to work autonomously, have excellent communication and negotiation skills within complex situations. You will have sound leadership and organisational skills as well as experience of supervising and assessing health care students in the practice setting.
In return we offer you support and development within an innovative and dynamic team which includes links with multi-professional Practice Education Facilitators.
The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

Main duties of the job
Work with the Health Board and University Partners to deliverthe Pre-Registration programmes in Wales.
Work with Community Service Managers (CSM's) to identify appropriate staff for the role of Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor.
Develop and maintain a successful communication system and workingrelationship with all Directorate CSM's, Ward Sisters/Charge Nurses andPractice Assessors/Practice Supervisors across the Health Board.
Establish and maintain valuable working relationships with all levels of staff at our partner Universities.
To be accessible and available to all Practice Assessors/Practice Supervisors; acting as a positive role model in relation to exemplary practice and respond to the need of clinical areas throughout the Health Board, advising on issues relating to practice supervision and assessment.
Maintain an up-to-date register of Practice Assessors andSupervisors and provide training and support as often as is needed.
Work in partnership with universities ensuring fair allocation of studentnumbers across clinical areas.
