Job summary
Glyder ward is in a 18 bedded Cardiology Ward. This is an exciting opportunity for an senior nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality ,safe and compassionate care within a specialist cardiac environment.
Our Cardiology ward cares for patients with a range of acute and chronic cardiac conditions, including heart failure, arrhythmias , post angiography and complex medical patients.
The successful candidate will provide strong clinical and operational leadership, ensuring excellence in patient experience , safety and staff development.
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the ward, including staff leadership, workforce planning , quality improvement and maintaining high standards of patient safety and experience.
This role requires a visible and supportive leader who can inspire the team, promote a positive working environment , and drive service improvements while maintain high standards of care.
The post holder is expected to provide a consistent leadership presence on the ward on site five days per week.
Main duties of the job
As the Ward Manager you will be responsible for managing the ward, promoting a positive patient and staff experience and leading on the delivery of excellent nursing care. This role requires close working relationships with a wide range of people including the Multi-Disciplinary Team, Consultants, Heads of Nursing, Matrons and other Ward Managers.
Alongside the clinical continuous professional development, the successful candidate can expect to develop both their leadership and managerial skillset. Overseeing a vibrant team and supporting their practice through a strong clinical presence. Striving to achieve both local and National objectives.

Continuous responsibility for the twenty-four hour management of nursing on the Medical ward.
Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients within designated areas.
Accountable for the quality of care delivered within clinical area by nursing
Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to develop services provided for patients within clinical area.
