Job summary
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will demonstrate a high level of practice in both direct patient care and in the ability to plan and develop services to support cancer care. Through the key skills of leadership, innovation and clinical expertise the CNS will facilitate and deliver patient centred care, which is efficient and effective. The CNS is a core member within the multidisciplinary team (MDT). They will work collaboratively with clinicians and service managers to promote, develop, review and redesign services that are responsive to patient's needs in line with national and local objectives. The CNS is an autonomous practitioner and has the freedom to act to influence patient care and service provision and will predominantly working within the haematology nursing team managing a caseload of both patients with malignant haematological issues and will lead on the blood disorder service alongside the wider team.
Main duties of the job
Managing case load of patients with known blood disorders, care planning and working alongside the lead clinician to develop the service. The post holder will also have a caseload of patient with malignant haematological issues and will cross cover the wider haematology nursing team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
