Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Rehabilitation, Falls & Frailty

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physiotherapy Clinical Specialist in Rehabilitation with an interest in falls and frailty. The post holder will clinically lead Physiotherapy service delivery for falls, orthopaedic early supported discharge and provide support to the inpatient Physiotherapy team at Chirk Hospital.

In this pivotal role, you will provide clinical leadership, supporting equitable, evidence-based practice across all sites. You will hold a specialist caseload, including patients with dizziness, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and those with complex falls presentations, applying advanced assessment and rehabilitation skills. This is an exciting opportunity to shape high-quality falls prevention and management pathways across Wrexham and Flintshire, driving excellence in clinical standards and service delivery.

You will deliver clinical supervision and professional support to a diverse team of Physiotherapist and Technical Instructors/Therapy Support staff to ensure a seamless, patient-centred approach to care.

Main duties of the job

  • Working collaboratively with the Advanced Practitioner and Physiotherapy leadership team to deliver a high quality clinical service in the East Integrated Health Community.
  • The assessment and management of complex patients. Developing and delivering individualised treatment programmes and working effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Providing clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the service including planning and coordinating service delivery and service evaluation once competencies completed.
  • Working collaboratively with Falls leads across BCUHB to develop service improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting the on-going education and development of the team to ensure a high quality, evidence based service.
  • Lead educator for student placements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
