Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to join the IV Suite/Outpatients Department in Denbigh Infirmary Hospital. Within the department we offer the delivery of intravenous therapy and provide outpatient clinics closer to home for those within our community.
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Health Care Support Worker to join our team. The post holder will demonstrate good communication skills and commit to excellent patient care. The post holder will support the registered nurses in delivering high quality, safe and effective care. The post holder will play a key role in ensure a smooth patient journey assisting with preparation, delivery and monitoring of care within a busy clinical environment.
Working under the supervision of the registered nurse you will support patients receiving intravenous infusions, prepare equipment and prepare clinical areas. You will provide reassurance and support to the patients, promoting dignity and respect at all times. The post holder will be expected to maintain high standards of infection control and be able to successfully work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team delivering care to patient with support and supervision provided by a registered health care professional.
- Undertake personal care activities and tasks as delegated by a registered healthcare profession, in accordance with HEIW All Wales Guideline for Delegation.
- Ensure the registered health professional is regularly updated on the patient condition and improvement/deterioration.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the healthcare setting and appropriate storage of stock items.
- Deliver role in accordance with Health Board/Trust values and the Code of Conduct for HCSW's in Wales.
