Job summary
Flintshire CAMHS are delighted to be seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our team. We offer a 0-18 service to babies, children, young people and families. We provide an extensive offer to our local community including early intervention and prevention services, unscheduled care, an Early Years 0-7 service and we offer a broad range of NICE recommended and other evidence based interventions. We are a dynamic and committed multidisciplinary team of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapists, Child Looked After and CAMHS Practitioners with a range of core professional backgrounds and Assistant Psychologists. Significant joint working takes place with multi-agency partners with whom we have very good relationships. We also have excellent links with the Bangor Clinical Psychology Programme and provide regular placements.
We are proud of our commitment to supporting continuing professional development for our team and have recently supported and funded clinicians to attend training in a range of interventions relevant to their role including Solution Focussed training, Motivational Interviewing, foundation in systemic interventions, VIG, IPT-A, CBT, CBT-TF, ACT and DBT. Regular in-service training takes place, alongside peer case discussions, in addition to multidisciplinary team meetings.
Main duties of the job
This post will provide a key role as Lead Clinical Psychologist for Flintshire CAMHS. The successful candidate will provide a highly specialised clinical psychology service to clients of Flintshire CAMHS, providing specialised psychological assessment and therapy and Care Co-Ordination. The role will involve offering consultation, training, leadership and service development work. Offering clinical supervision to Clinical Psychologists and other professions is a key part of this role, alongside providing clinical placements and supervision for Doctoral level trainee Clinical Psychologists.
As part of the senior leadership team, this role will support Flintshire CAMHS by utilising highly specialised research skills for audit, policy and service development. The post holder will contribute to the development of local team policies and procedures and their implementation, to support ongoing improvements in service quality.
The role will also include involvement in regional and national service developments. We have excellent links with our partner service in Wrexham CAMHS and involvement in service development initiatives across the area will form part of this role.
