Clinical Upholstery Technician

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for one Band 4 Clinical Upholstery Technician to join the Posture and Mobility Service at our Posture and Mobility building in Bryn y Neuadd Hospital, Llanfairfechan. The service covers a wide geographical area in North and Mid Wales.

The work will be based in the workshop areas and will involve the manufacture of custom seating covers, other medical devices and the adaptation of mobility equipment. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of clinical, technical and administrative staff.

Main duties of the job

The key objectives of the post are:

  • Manufacturing covers and accessories for custom medical devices, and modifying off-the-shelf equipment to suit the patients' needs.
  • Creating patterns to create the covers - iDigit is used to digitise the patterns once the paper ones have been made.
  • Supporting clinicians and offering advice on methods of manufacture and fabrics.

This post offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their upholstery skills and will require adaptability to meet a wide variety of clinical and technical requirements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
