Job summary
An exiting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated health care assistant to join our team on the Children's ward.
We provide care for children from 0-18years admitted for acute illnesses or planned or elective procedures under a variety of specialities. We offer a range of development opportunities and are very supportive or role progression.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver care to children and young people with support and supervision provided by a registered health care professional.
Undertake personal care activities and clinical care duties with minimal support an supervision as delegated by a registered healthcare professional in accordance with the HEIW All Wales Guidelines for Delegation.
Ensures the registered healthcare professional is regularly updated on the patients/clients condition and progress.
Promotes and maintains a healthy, safe and secure environment for children, young people and their families.
Ensures the working environment is safe and hygienic following infection prevention and control policies and processes.
Contributes to the teaching and supervision of students and junior staff.
Delivers the role in accordance with the Health Board Values and the Code of Conduct for HCSW in Wales.
