Job summary
We are in the process of recruiting a Consultant to join our existing team for six months. This is a fixed term appointment, with full time commitment in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We are particularly seeking a colleague with special interests in Urogynaecology, in addition to a broad range of generic skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of work including outpatient clinic sessions in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Labour Ward and Gynaecology operating theatre lists in addition to the hybrid resident/ non-resident on-call rota. At present all Consultant participate in twilight cover as resident on call.
Main duties of the job
The Consultant is expected to be physically on site while providing labour ward cover during working hours. Consultant will not provide any other cover e.g., ANC or GOPD while covering Labour ward.
All Consultants in the team will contribute towards the development of departmental audits. The department has a structured audit and clinical governance programme to which all colleagues and trainees contribute.
All Consultants are expected to promote and to participate in and to support ongoing clinical research within the department.

- Completed ATSMs appropriate to the post
- Experience of supervising junior staff

- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
- Additional relevant degree(s)
- Evidence of audit/Quality improvement projects
- Equivalent training accepted by College/GMC for Specialist Register (CESR)
