As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant within the pharmacy team, you will have the opportunity to develop a truly excellent, person-centred care pharmacy service at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Particularly key to the role will be the multi-disciplinary engagement and coordinating the safe and effective flow of work through the dispensary.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for coordinating the safe and effective flow of work through the dispensary ensuring all people involved in the process, are provided with necessary information to ensure that patient's medication supply needs are met, under the direction of the Senior Pharmacy Technician. Actively manage, supervise and co-ordinate pharmacy team members including staff appraisal, work allocation, sickness and annual leave management. Assist in training of pharmacy staff working in the dispensary and satellite pharmacy areas. Operate pharmacy systems to carry out tasks in an accurate, timely manner, provide administrative and clerical support for dispensary related work. Including being lead responsible person to facilitate the use of the pharmacy tracker system ensuring a safe, efficient pharmacy service is provided while delivering the highest quality care. Assist in recruitment of staff, delivery of KPIs, production of rotas and production of reports using the pharmacy tracker system and Work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist in management and delivery of near patient medicines management to inpatients across BCUHB sites.
