Job summary
The post holder will work as an integral part of the Outpatient team. They will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities/services in the Outpatient area and for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
The main element of the role is to support ward managers in the running of the unit, together with the other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs, as determined by the Departmental Sister or Nurse in Charge.
The post holder will be required to work closely with the nursing team and other departments. They will monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies in liaison with the Ward Managers.
Main duties of the job
The position involves maintaining the high standards the role demands. The successful candidate will possess:
- To ensure a clean and tidy environment for patients and visitors.
- To order stock and maintain stock control.
- Report equipment that needs repair and maintenance to EBME.
- Order drugs from Pharmacy and put away, checking dates and taking out of date drugs back to pharmacy.
- To be aware of any changes to waste categorisation etc and make sure all staff aware by displaying posters.
- Ability to communicate on all levels and work as a team.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent organisation and coordinating skills.
- Be able to work independently and prioritise work.
- Adhere to BCU values.
