An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Ward Manager role at the Wrexham Maelor site, forming part of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The post is well supported with an established Band 7 peer group across the medical directorate, an experienced Matron, and Heads of Nursing. All working collaboratively towards clear and common goals.
The role requires clinical competence, relevant experience within a clinical setting and in a leadership role.

Bersham Ward is a 27 bedded Unit which is designed to accommodate Strokes from admission to discharge or transfer to the rehabilitation area once deemed medically fit. Bersham Ward houses an acute level 2 admission area that facilitates the holistic care of stroke patients post cerebral thrombolytic therapy. Bersham Ward provides a complete Multi-disciplinary team approach with all relevant therapies being based within the ward template and this allows smooth transition of care and collaborative working at its best.
Main duties of the job
As the Ward Manager you will be responsible for managing the ward, promoting a positive patient and staff experience and leading on the delivery of excellent nursing care. This role requires close working relationships with a wide range of people including the Multi-Disciplinary Team, Consultants, Heads of Nursing, Matrons and other Ward Managers.
As a senior leader, the appointee will be integral to future ward accreditation. This board initiative drives excellence and quality care. This will ensure the post holder will benefit from constructive feedback and clear objectives for the ward.

Continuous responsibility for the twenty-four hour management of nursing on the Medical ward.
Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients within designated areas.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
