Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for to join a busy children's ward providing comprehensive administrative support to the nursing staff and doctors on the Ward. We are looking to recruit a permanent member of staff to work a minimum of 23.8 hours per week:
Shift pattern will be over 3 weeks working s 5 days per week between Monday to Sunday. Shift pattern includes working 1 weekend in 3. Shifts will mostly be between 08:00 - 14:00 or 13:30-20:00, Monday to Friday and between 10:00 - 18:00 on weekends.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate a degree of flexibility with regards to swapping shifts or working additional hours and working patterns to cover vacant shifts, when required to meet service needs.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for colleagues with experience of admin and clerical duties, who have good interpersonal and organisational skills and who will be able to work well within our existing team.
You will need to have a flexible approach to work, be reliable, adaptable and have good organisational skills. A pleasant telephone manner and good communication skills are essential to receive and respond courteously to all telephone enquiries regarding patient care.
You will also be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office, be a team player and able to maintain confidentiality.Applicants must also have a good standard of education.
Main duties of the role involve data inputting, admitting and discharging patients, answering the telephone, dealing with families, preparing case notes and filing.
As a member of the team, you will be expected to cover absences within the department, which may include additional evening and weekend shifts.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role.
