Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in the Mainstream Schools' Team
Are you an experienced band 5 SLT looking for the next step on your career journey? Or a band 6 looking to further develop your skills? Look no further!
Our mainstream schools team has an opening for an enthusiastic and passionate Speech and Language Therapist with experience in a wide range of SLCN and we would love to hear from you if evidenced based, patient led and innovative working is what drives you!
The team prides itself on being forward thinking; continually scoping and inspiring best practice, working closely together and supporting one another in providing high quality patient care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
We work across Wrexham and Flintshire counties and this full time Band 6 post would work primarily within mainstream schools with children aged 4-11.
We see all aspects of SLCN and work closely with education colleagues and parents to ensure maximum benefit and positive outcomes.
You will assess and provide therapy, working as a member of a dynamic, positive, and fun team of clinicians and TI's. Our caseload is shared but you would independently manage a proportion of it within a structured service provision system.
We continually promote learning and sharing of skills and knowledge within the team and work on whole team service improvement projects within the mainstream schools team as well as jointly with the other teams within the wider paediatric service.
Organisational skills are key within the SLT profession but keeping up to date with research, evidence base and being an innovative team player are also skills that suit this role.
We offer a comprehensive and structured induction to all our new starters followed by high quality clinical supervision, regular team meetings and exciting CPD opportunities. We pride ourselves on our strong support network, with colleagues with extensive skills and experience around you to help you develop as an SLT. You will receive regular management and clinical supervision.
We welcome informal visits and are happy to answer any queries about this role.
