Job summary
The North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre (NWCTC) is part of Glan Clwyd Hospital on the North Wales coast close to Snowdonia with excellent access to Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. The NWCTC provides a wide range of cancer services for adult oncology and haematology patients including complex chemotherapy, chemo-radiotherapy, radiotherapy, clinical trials and immunotherapy treatments in both the day case and inpatient setting.
We are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking individual to lead an established dedicated team of clinical pharmacists and technicians in the NWCTC Pharmacy. The services provided by the pharmacy team in the cancer centre are expanding and signifcant investment has allowed expansion of the team across all grades of staff. The focus has been to increase integration in to the Multidisciplinary Clinical Team with innovative technican led services and increased pharmacist prescribing within ward rounds and clinics.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will lead, promote and continue the focus of role expansion and wider clinical integration.This will be achieved through team leadership, multidisciplinary and collaborative working, alongside a support network with other Cancer and Pharmacy Production Services pharmacists across the Health Ward.
Research and development opportunities will be available and we actively encourage career progression by offering funded places on leadership, management and or clinical specialist courses including consultant pharmacist credentialling.
You should have a significant amount of post registration experience in hospital pharmacy in oncology and haematology and experience of leading a team is highly desirable.
This is a full-time permanent post (37.5 hours) although part-time hours (30 hours or more) would be considered.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
