This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 2 years to meet the needs of the service.
An exciting position has arisen for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within Substance Misuse Services in Conwy
This position will include:
- To provide support for patients in the clinic and community settings.
- To work flexibly within a Substance Misuse Service and multidisciplinary team.
- To undertake designated work unsupervised, which has been delegated by a trained member of the team.
- To organise own day-to-day activities and diary management in accordance with the Clinic Schedule.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is required to communicate effectively with patients, carers, families, social workers, GPs and play an effective role within the multidisciplinary team.
The post holder is required to build up effective relationships to enable interventions.
The post holder will be able to use tact, encouragement and persuasive skills to enable patients to participate in interventions and to achieve goals.
The post holder will have in-depth knowledge of substances and their misuse seen in practice through experiential knowledge gained by working with the client group.
The post holder will be able to analyse situations in a working environment and liaise with their manager, the multidisciplinary team and allied health professionals about patients' presentation and their ability and motivation to engage in particular interventions.
The post holder will be able to analyse and react appropriately and sensitively to patents' changing presentation, moods and challenging behaviours when in an isolated environment taking into consideration effective risk management.
