Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Adult Registered Nurse to join our friendly and expanding team on AMU Assessment as Deputy Ward Manager. AMU Assessment is within the Emergency Quadrant and is an area of continuous development. We are a 23-bedded acute assessment unit and an Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) unit. Specialising in acute medicine and emergency admissions from both ED and GPs.
AMU Assessment is looking for a highly motivated individual who thrive in fast-paced environments and wish to contribute to our vision of providing compassionate nursing care. We are seeking to recruit a deputy ward manager who can make a difference with their dedication and expertise whilst upholding the trusts values and behaviours. We are a friendly department with a positive ethos and strong nursing leadership.
As an experienced nurse, you will work both clinically as a member of the nursing team providing clinical advise, expertise and leadership to all staff and in partnership with the ward managers. Applicants need to have a sound knowledge of clinical, leadership and managerial skills. Be able to demonstrate the ability to lead as well as work within a team: to supervise, nurture and develop the knowledge and skills of staff.
Main duties of the job
To support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day management of the ward. To take charge of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager. To ensure the ward runs efficiently, by promoting mental health care through Health Board policies and NMC guidelines and code of practice.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
