Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a team of Progress Chasers in the Emergency Department, Wrexham Maelor
The Progress Chasers would work on a shift basis to cover 7 days a week. You would be required to work weekends and bank holidays.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Emergency Department Team working to assist the Emergency Practitioner in Charge (EPIC) and the Nurse in Charge (NIC) with the monitoring and management of the flow of patients through the Department by facilitating an efficient, effective and timely management of the patient's pathway.
You will possess a good standard of education, previous experience of working in an administrative or clinical setting and able to keep pace with a fast moving and highly demanding environment. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and be efficient and organised with your own workload.
Excellent communication skills are required as the post holder will support the clinical team to challenge the progress of patients' journeys with all members of the clinical teams to include Consultants, Nursing, Support Services, Ambulance staff etc.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a member of the Emergency Department Team working to assist the Emergency Practitioner in Charge (EPIC) and the Nurse in Charge (NIC) with the monitoring and management of the flow of patients through the Department by facilitating an efficient, effective and timely management of the patient's pathway. This monitoring and management should include, but is not limited to, patients in Triage, Resus, Majors, Minors and Fit2Sit.
The role will also ensure breaches of the 4 hour and 12 hour standards are monitored and escalated as required and that correct breach processes are adhered to.
