The North Wales Primary Care Audiology Service is expanding! Our service is looking to recruit qualified Band 5 staff to help deliver a new wax removal service to patients across North Wales. The service operates across the whole of North Wales from Wrexham to Anglesey, covering a diverse area with outstanding coastal and rural scenery.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join established dynamic team working within GP surgeries. You will be helping to deliver a safe and effective wax removal service to patients within a specific Primary Care cluster. This will involve wax removal using manual techniques (microsuction), as well as assisting in first line assessment of hearing and tinnitus. Once fully established in the role, your time will be split between Primary Care, and working within the Adult Rehab Audiology service in secondary care, carrying out all aspects of routine audiology adult rehabilitation. Wax removal using micro-suction is a key part of the role, and training will be arranged for the successful candidate if required. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will have opportunity to be involved with audit, service development, and research activity as the service expands.
The ideal candidate will be eligible for registration with the AHCS or RCCP, be confident working autonomously and ready for a new challenge.
If you are inspired by the opportunity to be involved in this expanding and developing new service, we would love to hear from you. If you would like to spend a day shadowing the service, please contact us to discuss prior to application.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
