Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious Pharmacy Technician with good organisation and communication skills to join our friendly pharmacy team.
We are looking for the right personal qualities as much as previous experience.
Your role will involve undertaking duties in the dispensary, at ward level supporting the ward based pharmacy teams and within our MHRA licensed Production Unit. Full training will be provided in all these areas.
We are committed to CPD for all our staff and aim to give the support necessary to ensure your individual needs are met. The role of the pharmacy technician is very much valued in the department and there will be internal and external training opportunities to enable you to develop within the role.
Candidates who are currently undertaking their qualification and are due to register with either professional body within the next 6 months are also equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
You will perform a wide variety of routine and non-routine duties in relation to the preparation and supply of medicines and related products for service users within BCUHB.
Pharmacy Technicians are expected to exercise a degree of autonomy and control in the performance of allocated duties within limits set by the Senior Pharmacy Technician supervising the section and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
You will be liaising with pharmacy staff in all sectors and other healthcare professionals to ensure a patient orientated medicines management service is provided. You will work closely with pharmacy colleagues to adopt a team approach to medicines management, acting as a key member of the multidisciplinary and wider pharmacy team, providing medicines management advice to healthcare professionals, patients and carers.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
