Clinical Psychologist – East CAMHS Early Years

Job summary

We are excited to be advertising a 7/8a Development post for a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist to join our CAMHS Early Years Pathway for infants and children aged 0-7 and their families across Wrexham and Flintshire. East Early Years CAMHS works closely with Health Visiting services to support mental health at the earliest stages with a focus on the parent-infant/child relationship. More widely, we engage with local partners to strategically support the development of early years mental health and parent-infant relationship across our networks. Our pathway includes an experienced Clinical Psychologist, a highly skilled Specialist Nursery Nurse, Specialist Health Visitor, CAMHS Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists, with input from a Consultant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and Principal Clinical Psychologist.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can evidence their passion for this area of work and their commitment to clinical quality, evidence-based practice and maintaining high professional standards for themselves and others.The successful candidate will have an individual development plan to support their progress towards achieving the required competencies to fulfill the requirements for a substantive 8a post. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Clinical Psychologist. We have an excellent relationship with Bangor Clinical Psychology Programme and offer a specialist Early Years CAMHS placement for final year trainees.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside Health Visiting and other professionals, the successful candidate will undertake specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions delivered to families and via groups. They will promote psychological thinking and formulation within our multidisciplinary team. In line with development of appropriate competencies, the post holder will offer consultation to families, health professionals and to multi-agency colleagues. Supervision of others, delivery of training, leadership and service development linked to our Early Years Pathway across both bases will form an integral part of competency development in this role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
