Clinical Psychologist in Specialist Rehabilitation Services

Job summary

BCUHB regional Rehabilitation Service is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist. This is a permanent post, which will play a key role in supporting further developments around psychological and Trauma Informed Approaches within Rehabilitation mental health.The post holder will be expected to integrate well into the multi-disciplinary team, working with adults with complex and severe mental health needs. As well as providing direct clinical input to clients, this role will also involve supporting others through training, supervision, formulation and reflection. The post holder will play a significant role in risk assessment, formulation and risk management. The role will require involvement in service development, strategic and clinical leadership.

This successful applicant will recruited to a Band 7 development post or a Band 8a post, dependent upon experience. Interest is welcomed from Trainees Clinical Psychologists due to complete their training this year.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will independently assess and treat a complex caseload of service users within a range of specialist mental health rehabilitation settings. They will provide, develop and manage highly specialist interventions for service users and their families including highly specialist neuropsychological assessments. The post holder will provide clinical training and placements for clinical psychologists in training; provide specialist advice, supervision and consultancy to other professionals; undertake Research and Development activities, lecturing and teaching and maintain up to date knowledge of the evidence base for therapies and interventions with service users.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • oGood Honours degree in Psychology. Eligibility for Chartered status with the BPS.
