Job summary

An accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, families, carers, internal departments and external agencies: Provides support to Clinical staff within the department and acts as PA to the Clinical Lead. Contributes, monitors and facilitates secretarial and administration processes to assist the delivery of a safe and efficient patient pathway (i.e., RTT, waiting list management).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as PA to the Lead Consultant and ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the Consultant and the clinicians within the team, including junior medical team and specialist nursing teams and other health professionals.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management direction and guidance of the administration/secretarial rheumatology team dealing with appropriate day to day management issues i.e., annual leave and allocation of workload to ensure, and oversee the smooth running of the department. To provide support and liaise with the Community Specialties Manager and Clinical Lead.

The postholder will be required to assist and provide support to the Community Specialties Manager and Area management team as required in terms of performance monitoring and management over a broad range of duties.
