Health Care Assistant - Children's Specialist Complex Care Team

Job summary
As part of the Children's Specialist Complex Care Team, the post holder will provide care and support to children in their homes or school who have complex health care needs including life limiting/life threatening conditions.
You will be responsible for carrying out designated work, much of which will involve direct patient care. This care will be delegated by trained staff. The post-holder will be expected to work under the indirect supervision of trained staff or as a lone worker.
Shift patterns may involve working a mixture of days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Main duties of the job
The position holder will be responsible for caring for children with complex health care needs in the community setting either at home or school. This is an extremely rewarding area of practice caring for children with life limiting/ life threatening conditions. The post holder will provide hands on nursing care to these children following training and assessment of competence in various nursing skills.
The post holder will be required to be caring, compassionate, dedicated and flexible in approach. An ability to work well on own initiative and within a small team. The post holder will be required to work shifts including unsociable hours and nights.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
