Job summary

Do you have a proven track record of delivering resilience, emergency planning and/or business continuity? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for two individuals with EPRR knowledge and experience to join the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a passion for working in a fast-paced environment, to provide EPRR advice, coordination, exercise and training across BCUHB. Holding an emergency planning qualification / training and relevant work-based experience in a related field.

Main duties of the job

The position is based in the BCUHB HQ Office in Carlton Court, St Asaph. The post-holder will be supporting work across the Health Board footprint working regionally across North Wales on projects and programmes within the agreed annual work plan. The post holder should be prepared to travel across the North Wales area.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Emergency Planning qualification / training
  • Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent e.g. professional health service qualification.

Special Knowledge including experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in the NHS and/or a complex public sector environment.
  • Experience of multi-agency working across a range of organisations with competing priorities and needs.
  • Experience of interpreting national policy in relation to resilience and implementing strategic plans, ideally in an NHS environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering Emergency Planning and / or Business Continuity agenda, including managing exercises; developing plans and delivering training in a complex multi-agency environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of national guidance and policies on resilience and how these relate to the NHS.
  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of the UK and Welsh Governments' Resilience Planning structures and objectives, and NHS Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity planning priorities, including National, Regional and DGH Standards.
  • Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical skills; literacy, IT and numeracy skills with the ability to produce a range of documents or presentations for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Understanding of the Risk Management, Assurance and Governance arrangements, and how they are linked to Business Continuity

  • Practical experience of managing emergency incidents at a Bronze, Silver and Gold level
