We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Vaccination & Immunisation Service.
If you have the ability to work using your own initiative, have good communication skills, a high level of accuracy and are keen to develop your skills this is the job for you!
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Advises practice on cold-chain and governance procedures
- Analysing patient prescribing data, using the audit tools available, and discuss the results with prescribers.
- By observation and audit ensure robust repeat prescribing systems are in place and implemented. Assist in training of staff laid down by documented protocols.
- Provide support to the Locality Lead Medicines Management in practice medicines management meetings.
- Support Medicines Management developments in the locality being first point of contact, in relation to for example fridge failures.
- Obtaining drug, therapeutic and pharmaceutical information.
- Provide elements of training for new members of staff and the local acute hospital pre-registration pharmacy students and diploma pharmacists, including competency sign-off.
- Responsible for the vaccine rooms within the local vaccination centres, ensuring cold-chain governance and compliance.
