Bangor Zimmer Biomet Hip and Robotic Knee fellowship (2 x 6 months or 1 x 12 months)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for senior registrar level candidates (post FRCS Ortho / post CCT) looking to advance their skills in hip and knee arthroplasty. Working with three consultants, the successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of arthroplasty techniques including Robotic assisted knee replacements, personalised alignment techniques, partial knee replacements, minimally invasive hip replacements (posterior approach and direct anterior approach) and day surgery arthroplasty.
The successful candidate will join a friendly and enthusiastic team of ten other Registrars. The hard-working, highly motivated, dedicated team of consultants, medical and nursing staff, provide a high quality, modern service in a rapidly developing unit. The Department provides elective and emergency in-patient, day-case and outpatient services to a catchment area of approximately 240,000 residents.
This post attracts a fixed salary of £60,000 gross per annum.
Main duties of the job
The post will be predominantly focussed on elective surgery (up to three all day elective lists) although there will be some trauma commitments as well. The candidate will also be expected to get involved in research and departmental teaching activities.
The fellowship can be two 6 months posts (Post A from February 2025 to July 2025 and post B from August 2025 to January 2026) or one 12 months post (Post C from February 2025 to January 2026). The candidates should indicate which posts they are interested in (can choose multiple options).
