A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Therapies Assistant roles (full or part-time) within the North Wales wide Level 3 Weight Management for Children and Young People team based at St Asaph. The service is looking for highly motivated individuals with a passion for helping children and families. The successful applicants will have a background or interest in nutrition or physical activity and a natural quality improvement approach.

Main duties of the job

The assistants will encourage children and families to increase their activity levels and make healthy food and lifestyle choices. They will help children engage and set small, sustainable goals to improve their health whilst they attend the 12 month Help Me To Be Healthy programme. The role will involve various elements and may include delivering virtual group sessions via Teams (nutrition, lifestyle and exercise), administration, some 1:1 work and close liaison with the wider multidisciplinary team. Obesity in children is multifactorial so a flexible, empathetic approach is needed to tailor support for each child and address their specific needs. The assistants will help the wider team support ongoing changes which will ultimately enable beneficial outcomes for the children on the programme.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
