Thrombosis Team Health Care Support Worker (YGC)

Band 3

16.5 hours per week - Mon - Fri

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Outpatient Thrombosis (DVT) Service at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for a part-time HCSW to join their dynamic and friendly team. The role of the Thrombosis HCSW is to support the Thrombosis Specialist nurses to deliver evidence based care in the acute clinic setting in partnership with other health professionals, the patient and their family and carers.

The work is interesting and varied and requires a candidate that is flexible to meet the demands of an acute outpatient service. The role involves direct patient contact and the ideal candidate would support the delivery of care following the DVT integrated care pathway; carry out extended HCSW roles such as phlebotomy and support the multidisciplinary team in service development.

The candidate would also be expected to manage some of the administrative work of the team, the planning and co-ordination of daily patient schedules and the provision and organisation of an efficient, accurate and prompt administrative and secretarial support service.

Working hours are expected to be within 08:30 -17:00 hours.

Main duties of the job

Assist the Thrombosis specialist nurse in delivering a high standard of care for query DVT patients in an acute outpatient setting at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital

We are a small dynamic and friendly team comprising of a Lead Thrombosis nurse; 2 full -time Thrombosis specialist nurses; a Thromboprophylaxis speciality nurse; a part-time HCSW and team clerk.
