Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join BCUHB as Deputy Medical and Dental Education Manager (based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital). We are seeking to recruit a highly organised and experienced professional to join our growing Medical and Dental Education team.

You will be aware of the current challenges and developments in medical and dental education. With a proven experience of managing teams and projects, this role is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to the delivery of medical and dental education in Wrexham.

The role will have a strong emphasis on operational management. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and evaluation of professional teaching activity, training programmes, Continuing Professional Development activity, induction and skills and simulation training for Physician's Associates (PA's), medical and physician associate students, Junior Doctors, specialty trainees and locally appointed doctors in the absence of the Medical and Dental Education Manager.

Main duties of the job

To support the Medical Education Manager in providing strategic direction, specialist medical training knowledge, planning and leadership to the Medical and Dental Education Team.

The post encompasses operational management responsibility for the delivery and evaluation of professional teaching activity, training programmes, Continuing Professional Development activity, induction and skills training for Physician's Associates (PA's),Medical Students, Junior Doctors, Specialty Trainees and Locally Employed Doctors in the absence of the Medical Education Manager.

The post also assists with financial management responsibilities associated with educational contracts, business planning, and departmental policy and service development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
