Job summary

Senior Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) - Older Adult Clinical Psychology (37.5hrs). Based in Flintshire.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to help make a real difference for people accessing Memory Assessment and Older People's Community Mental Health Services in North Wales, while contributing and being supported by a dynamic Older Adults Psychology team with strong links to the North Wales Clinical Psychology programme.

The BCUHB Older Adult Clinical Psychology department consists of a friendly and supportive team of colleagues spread out across North Wales with excellent ongoing peer-support, supervision, and mentoring, with competitive opportunities for training and career progression. You will receive professional leadership and support, with longstanding clinical and research links with the School of Psychology and the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme at the University of Bangor, Wales. The successful candidate will benefit from BCUHB-wide professional links across the North Wales within Clinical Psychology, with opportunity for research and clinical networking both locally and nationally. Main duties of the job

This is a permanent 8a position, and the post-holder will provide specialist clinical input and support to both the Memory Assessment Service (MAS) multidisciplinary team and the Older People's Community Mental Health Team (OPMH CMHT). As well as delivering psychological and neuropsychological assessments, specialist pre and post-diagnostic counselling, psychological intervention, formulation, and group work, the post will also facilitate indirect intervention through training, supervision, and team formulation. Delivery will also include attending clinical MDT, referral, business, and clinical leadership meetings, as well as provision of supervision to junior psychologists, assistants and trainees. Enthusiasm and commitment are essential. This post will require excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to integrate and collaborate with MDT colleagues.
