Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced therapeutic radiographer to join the team at the radiotherapy department in The North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre.
The department is equipped with Varian Linear Accelerators (3 Truebeams - all with C-Rad surface guided systems, 2 Varian IX ), a Canon Aquillion CT planning scanner , a Gulmay Orthovoltage Unit, Prosoma, and an Eclipse treatment planning system.
We have just recently installed a new Truebeam accelerator which is part of an ongoing equipment, software and hardware replacement programme. The Aria system underwent a software upgrade in November 2023 which will see the service move towards paper-lite pathways with the use of care paths.
This is a rotational post and you will have the opportunity to work across treatment and pre-treatment areas
You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoy being part of a busy team, with an adaptable approach and the ability to multi-task. You should be able to work flexibly according to the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
Contribute, as a senior radiographer, to a patient focussed radiotherapy service of the highest quality and, under the management of the Principal/ Superintendent Radiographer, Band 7 radiographers/advanced practitioners, be the point of reference for a designated area of specific responsibility within the radiotherapy department.
Perform high quality radiotherapy treatments ensuring efficient delivery of workflow and compliance with the statutory regulations relating to ionising radiation, BCUHB, Cancer Division and Radiotherapy and Medical Physics Department policies and procedures.
Undertake delegated line management responsibilities of other staff members including personal development and individual performance reviews.
Work autonomously as a state registered radiographer, meeting and maintaining the standards for training, professional skills, behaviour and health as developed and agreed by the health and care professionals' regulating body known as 'Health Care Professions Council' (HCPC).

2xfixed term / secondment for 12 months due to to meet the needs of the service .
