Job summary
The post holder will deliver a comprehensive high quality secretarial administrative service for the Oral Health Promotion team.
Improved oral health can improve the general health of vulnerable people. Vulnerable people are often at increased risk of dental and oral disease. Community Dental Services in Wales also have a remit to provide comprehensive oral health education/promotion and improve oral health through a number of evidence-based programmes. Two of the programmes, Designed to Smile and Gwn am Byth, are funded by Welsh Government.The population target for Designed to Smile is children, from birth and early years through to school year 2, whilst the target group for Gwn am Byth is older people living in care homes. North Wales CDS employs around 30 people within the Oral Health Promotion department to manage and fulfil the service targets for the various Oral Health Improvement programmes.
Main duties of the job
To provide an accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for OHP clinical teams, and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Community Dental Clinics, in order to support the effective and efficient delivery of Oral Health Promotion Programmes.
To support the co-ordination of the administration arrangements to provide a high quality supportive secretarial service to the Oral Health Promotion teams (including but not limited to Designed to Smile and Older Persons (Gwen am Byth) programmes. To work independently and be accountable for organising/prioritising own workload to ensure deadlines are achieved. To support the facilitation of the OHP Programmes along a defined pathway.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
