Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Adult Registered Nurse to become Ward Manager of AMU Assessment. AMU Assessment is within the Emergency Quadrant and is an area of continuous development. The department comprises of a 25-bedded acute assessment ward and an Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) unit.
AMU Assessment is looking for a highly motivated individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and wishes to contribute to our vision of providing compassionate nursing care. We are seeking to recruit a ward manager who can make a difference with their dedication and expertise whilst upholding the trusts values and behaviours. We are a friendly department with a positive ethos and strong nursing leadership.
As Ward Manager you will carry overall continuing responsibility for the management and leadership of the ward including administration and the overall co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting and auditing of standards of care to ensure excellent high quality care is delivered at all times. Applicants need to have a sound knowledge of clinical, leadership and managerial skills . Be able to demonstrate the ability to lead as well as work within a team: to supervise, nurture and develop the knowledge and skills of staff. The successful candidate will have substantial post registration experience in an acute setting as well as experience in managing a team.
Main duties of the job
As Ward Manager, you will;

- Lead a team of highly qualified nurses to ensure we deliver excellent patient care
- Be accountable for the quality of care delivered within clinical area by nursing
- Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to develop services provided for patients within clinical areas
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
